Corrina and I have been pondering organizing an Allumni event, and to help us get the process started, I would like some input from the Allumni, yourselves.
A few questions:
:?: First of all, would such an event motivate you to attend? I know it always "depends," so please specify...
:?: What can we do to build on the experience of Ishcon to further the value you got from your first(or second or third, in very rare cases...)conference?
:?: Would it be fair to include the vetrans of the site as well? (This Allumni event would be after this May's event, so there would be opportunity for avid posters to become Ishcon Allumni.)
Thank you for any input you may have so that we may better serve our community!

Excellent! I'm glad you got this going Tony.
Janene and I actually had some great conversation at our last Potluck reguarding this idea, hoping we could have an event that would be more self sustaining, ran more, hmmm whats the word....tribal? Nene, would you still be interested in heading up a food crew with Kris?

Hey--
Food crew? You know it!.... the hardest part will be making sure I don't just 'take over' and not let anyone else play

Corrina asked me if we wanted to make this just an exclusive meeting of Ishcon Conference Allumni. I think we'll have a lot of people coming out of this coming up conference, so it seems to me that what ever ad hoc committee we set up here shouldn't be something that's just for Allumni, but I think there is value in having a group of people who have had the training in constructive conversation that Ishcon brings out of people.

Well...the people who go to this IshCon will then be alumni. |

Ben,
Which is why this summer or fall would be the gathering, the idea is to build and build and build on what we have.
We've been batting around for some time about having regular gatherings that focus on re-creating elements of tribal life. Having an Allumni gathering seems like a good way to jump off the spring baord on a good foot. Like the Fall Ishcon, we had a good time, and were able to enjoy ourselves, but the intention and constructiveness of the event fell on the way side. |

Sry I havent posted - trying to sort out the signal from the backround noise...

But, yes, I think it's a great idea, for many possible locations, with many different aims, for more than just "alumni".
